EAA Young Aviators Special

Enjoyable Hour Building

It's back! Our EAA Young Aviator Specials!

The EAA has been looking at recruiting new, younger members and as part of this initiative we are offering hours at extremely low rates for CPL students and other young pilots. As we all know, when doing one's CPL, or having a newly minted license, hour building can be rather tedious - especially cross country hour building. Many schools will require either a high daily minimum hours or cannot afford to allow the aircraft to be off base for more than a day. The average student ends up flying away and back on the same day. Where is the fun in that? We want to change that!

If you:

  1. Join the EAA or the EAA Young Aviators Program before the end of March 20241,
  2. Are under 30 years of age,
  3. Have your PPL, and
  4. Purchase and pay for your hours before the end of March 2024.

Then we are offering:

  • Blocks of 10 hours on a Sling 2 @ R2000.00/hr incl VAT Wet2
  • Blocks of 10 hours on a Sling 4 @ R3000.00/hr incl. VAT Wet2

Sometimes want to fly the Sling 2 and sometimes the Sling 4? That is a possibility too and we will credit and subtract the rates accordingly from your balance. Want a custom number of hours? We can offer you an exact number of hours at those rates past 20 hours. You could buy 21 hours if you want at those great prices.

Unlike most places that make a block purchases only valid for 30 days, ours are valid for 90 days, and we may extend it on a case by case basis. If you purchase 20 hours then you get 180 days! 30 hours and it will be valid for a full year!

The aircraft can be used for normal hour building but also for weekend trips, cross country flights, or long holidays. Unlike the vast majority of places, we allow cross border rentals3 - enjoy visiting the beautiful deserts of Namibia or the lush Okavango Delta of Botswana. There are no minimum daily hours4 on away trips so it's ideal for going on amazing adventures and trips with your partner or family! You've got that license so enjoy building your hours.

Do you need a conversion and/or familiarisation with the aircraft? We have a few ATOs with our aircraft on their registers so we can help you get going quickly, but please note this will be at your expense. A quick check ride may also be required if you have not flown the type in a while.

We also have GoPros, headsets (Bose A20 or Lightspeed Zulu 3) and more to rent at extremely affordable rates for both you and your passengers. We help with planning and logistics so that you never feel out of your depth if you have never planned flying vacations or trips before outside of the normal boring school cross country flights.

Why rent a Sling?

If you have never flown a Sling whether its a Sling 2, 4 or TSI then you really have been missing out. The aircraft have responsive controls, are fast whilst being very efficient, and comfortable! Handling is also extremely forgiving. The modern glass cockpits, fully integrated autopilots and Garmin radios reduce pilot workload and give you all the information you may need. The Sling 2 is a reliable hour builder whilst being capable enough for cross country trips. The Sling 4 is fast and substantially outperforms the vast majority of school aircraft from point A to point B making it fantastic for cross country trips with adequate useful load and range. Sling aircraft meet or exceed POH performance values unlike many aged competitors.

Why does the EAA matter and why should I join?

The EAA is a global organisation that lies at the heart of modern general aviation. Its full of pilots, builders, designers and other aviation enthusiasts. The EAA is a wonderful group to be a part of and offers amazing networking and learning opportunities. Not only that, they arrange a number of fun events throughout the year that truly highlight the joy that aviation has to offer.

Unfortunately, over the years, less and less younger members have joined and this has impacted the EAA's long term survival as well as made it less capable of protecting and advocating for the aviation community in the hostile regulatory environment we operate in. The EAA is now starting with initiatives to encourage more young pilots to not only join, but also engage with them.

Whilst we are offering these great rates, behind the scenes the EAA is working to get exclusive discounts on headsets, pilot supplies, accommodation and more for these younger members. Join now and benefit from these amazing rates and future discounts.

Did you know that by law you need to be a member of an ARO as a pilot in South Africa? Why not join the best one in the country at that!
